From being in a giants hand to being back on solid ground was such a flip for me. Yet with the shock set in I only had to look slightly up to see those red eyes bearing down on me. Shaken down to the core with how utterly helpless I was, I suppose my mind was making up things. It seemed as if the giant was... Remorseful? It simply stared at me in what appeared to be frozen fear. One of the mouse's eyebrows lifted up almost as if it was curious. The thing seemed to at first begin to squeak softly. I figured this was dumb as if I'd be able to understand it. Thankfully the mouse noticed this too and closed back that godforsaken mouth. It actually reminded me of what I must have looked like when I first saw one of those fucking lizards. A towering behemoth of a monster. A true Godzilla so to speak. Even if this was more fluffy, it still has the same overall danger.
An overbearing silence follows as the rodent shifts on its feet. It was as if the thing didn't know what to do. I wanted to yell out, to tell it to just kill me and get it over with. Though the eyes of that thing where something different, almost human. A quick look to its mouth however made me loose whatever human sympathy my brain seemed to want to muster. When I had stabbed its hand the thing squeaked out, loudly. It was only a few moments of stagnant air afterward, but it felt like hours. Though finally, another sound broke out in the backdrop. I felt my blood freeze when I heard the tell-tale far off sound of one of those lizards. Their collection of hisses and chortles as they spoke over their radio's. One must be coming, no doubt to explore what had made that noise.
I stumbled back as my attention refocused on the large mouse. Once again it's sadness was slightly off-putting. But my eyes where only on its hand. Where I had stabbed it now streamed a line of crimson, not that I'd really care. First, my squadron and now for me, doesn't matter either by lizard or mouse, I'd die all the same. Thinking quickly I scooted back on the dust and rubble covered floor. I had just registered that each of the creature's fingers had long claws. Easily small swords each, just like the lizards. Instantly the creature began to look like it was sizing me up. As if plotting where to pin those claws down and dig into me. However, as several more moments pass it did no such thing.
The thing's visor flickered, lending its ears to then twitch in response. The giant seemed almost frightened. Before I could register what it must have been alerted too it began to walk away briskly, obviously trying not to make much noise. My heart was trying to win a race at this point, thudding against my chest as I sat there breathlessly. Quickly doing a check over myself I was surprised to see I was generally fine except for some scrapes, guess adrenaline is one hell of a thing. But just as I was raising myself, I knew I should have worn my lucky pants today. Through the destroyed floor I could feel it. Dull, but rhythmic, one of those... Things... The armored lizards... They must be coming. I had my theories but it was never proven, but I think those things like the taste of fear. As much as I'd love to stay for lunch, I figured it was best to get my ass in gear before I became a human meat log.

Alice looks so remorseful because she almost killed an innocent and intelligent lifeform and also afraid upon realizing how easily she can kill a human. I think she wants to apologize to Warren for almost crushing him, but unfortunately they are still in progress of translating human languages to add to their translators.
Poor thing.
I mean, that can apply to Warren and Alice both, but she's the one whose expression we can see here, and that look of sadness is heartbreaking. But, she's starting to understand how this tiny person must see her, as just another terrifying, towering monster that wants to destroy his city and have him for lunch, and she can understand why he responded to her the way he did.
