Still not doing great chronologically for my postings, but starting to get down there for the last few outstanding items! This was another one delayed by a fair amount of minor tweaking, because as great an artist as
RippleBeam is, no one can be a mind camera. This was the first time putting image to paper as it were, but it turned out quite magnificent I think!
So who’s this hansom yet perhaps unfamiliar bird? Well they say a leopard can’t change its spots, and that axiom remains true in metaphorical sense for dragons – which is to say one cannot change their nature. However, it seems the literal interpretation is in defiance here, because this vain, lazy, lounging kitty butt of a bird is none other than yours truly!
It seems almost a rule of nature that dragons and gryphon find one another endlessly fascinating, and I’m no exception to the rule. Those pretty floof’s have always been a close #2 on my favorites list behind dragons (just as green is my favorite colour behind blue, something which has been taken in to account here!), and while I’m not a terribly magical critter myself, I happen to know someone who is! Many years ago
Dracasis was toying about with a floofy form, and offered me up some rune stones shi had made to facility the exploration so that I might fiddle a bit myself. My mate combined one with a gryphon mask available in a dragon game we played (Istaria, which is still amazingly alive and well today), and we managed to rig up a permanent and easy way to get all fluffeh!
I’m smaller in this form than in my natural scales, but as one can see, far more vibrant. Preening can be taken to the next level with feathers. So much more to tend, reorder, fluff clear away! It’s not evident in this picture, but male anatomy is external in this form, as one might expect from a mammal. A poor biological design choice in my view, but it seems to fit better, and not everyone can be as well put together as a scaly predator of the skies
This rendition has been a very long time in coming, and I’m glad it came out so well. Thank you very much for the hard work and patience in bringing it to life Ripple! It’s a great picture that captures every element in perfection, and will be a great reference to use in the future!
