Baby Mack in 07, showing off his gorgeous back markings. Unfortunately, these lost their crazy orange color as he got older.

I got Mack for free. However, they usually run around $100 in stores, depending on what size you get. Babies aren't nearly as hardy as juveniles, subadults, and adults, so bigger is always better if you want to get one!
Their habitats can easily add another $100-200, depending if you have a tank already or not. However, if you check out your local Craigslist, people generally charge only $100-150 for the animal and everything you need for it. It can save you some major cashola!
Bearded dragons need a lot of heat, so you need to have a heat light on for 12 hours every day, plus an under tank heater all the time. They also need greens as part of their diet, so you need to be able to give them that and their crickets/mealworms almost on a daily basis. Once you get use to the routine, they're pretty easy to care for.
They're very rewarding. One of the most friendly species of lizard you can buy in the common pet trade! :]
