In truth Coaad-eet is my own OC, my actual avatar in the Griffin Ranger universe. He's kind of a nobody - a builder savant in permanent exile because he refused to preen the right vents. But he's not a monster like Whitehead, either, and he has a totally loving friend in Ripples. There are worse ways to end up.

Actually. as a child during the Great Depression, my Mom ate some possum they trapped. Her aunt and uncle would feed the varmints cracked corn for a week or two to clean the garbage out of them. When the alternative is starving, protein is where you find it.

My parents are from the Great Depression as well. My Mom is 94 (amazingly) my Dad passed away many years ago. I have heard many tales of sending the kids out with a .22 rifle and telling them to get what they could if they wanted meat with their dinner that night. They said they have eaten many different species.
