Part of Skal's cannon lore is that is spent several years as a mercenary for hire. He used to run with a rather large group, which was wiped out by a rival group in their sleep and was the cause for him turning from swordsman to mage. After he recovered physically he continued doing what he knew best, but set off solo instead of looking for a new group to chill with. He'd lost a few rather close friends and wasnt ready to move on yet.
During some of his contracts though he'd spent several days out stalking his target, so now and again he'd have to set up camp for the night and continue the next day. Here is one such night when the lonely argonian blocks the wind with his wings and uses his magical abilities to start a small campfire to keep warm for the night. The next day ofc would likely be more of the same, or it'd be the day that he'd get his mark and be able to travel back to town. He'd want to be well rested for it!
