Xochi had no idea how important Jack would become in her life. In this moment, she was simply curious about the polar bear boy in the flower shop. This bashful and shy boy who mumbled a lot and stayed a bit away from her.
It was a moment she would soon forget for years. But Jack didn't. He had smelled the scent of lilac on her and he never forgot it.
When they finally met again in high school, he knew immediately that she was the girl from the flower shop five years ago. She looked the same as she had then, only taller now. But Jack. Jack was much more muscular, much taller and much more scary looking to the smaller animals around him.
Xochi did not know him anymore. And Jack was too afraid to say anything to her. So he admired her from afar... until one day she confronted him and he had to say something... but that is a story for another time.
This was a scene my friend,
Toonzilla, and I had come up with as a "official" first encounter for our characters, Xochi and Jack. As such, they needed to be younger and we felt this made for an interesting backstory between the two. Xochi not remembering until Jack says something but Jack immediately recognizing her.
Anyway, hope you guys like it.

Does anyone else picture the Inside Out boy's head alarm scene, occurring right now in Jack's head? (This gif link might help: https://imgur.com/fdxgYqz)
