My culinary skills are better than my art skills. this pasta dish is an example of that. It's actually pretty easy to make.
Here's what it takes:
2/3 box of Pasta Farfalle (I just made the entire box & saved the rest for other purposes
1/2--2/3 lb mild Italian Sausage (You can use spicy if you want)
1 whole jar of Prego Garlic and Herb Tomato Sauce
5-7 leaves fresh basil
3-4 sprigs fresh parsley (sprigs? Leaves? Ah hell, it still makes for a good dish)
salt
Cooking pot
Strainer
Pan
Spatula
Spoon
less than 30 minutes of your time
Cooking instructions:
1--Bring a pot of water to a boil
2--Add the pasta, and stir it regularly for 11-12 minutes
3--Gob up the Italian Sausage with your fingers and throw the bits into a pan on medium heat , stirring the meat with a spatula (you may want to use an oil for this, but I did not. I recommend an olive oil if you go that route)
4--Transfer the pasta into a strainer, and add the tomato sauce into the pot. Ensure the heat is still on so the sauce can warm up.
5-- Chop up your basil and parsley.
6-- Add your Italian Sausage, spices, and salt into the sauce, and stir.
7-- Add your pasta and stir some more!
8-- Enjoy!
CONGRATULATIONS! You just made a family-size pasta dish! And hey, if you're single, you just made yourself at least two lunches along with your evening meal!
GOATS NOTES:
don't worry if you don't have fresh basil or parsley. Pre-packaged spices, such as the ones from McCormick, can work too, but not as well as the fresh stuff.
You can cut the sausage down to smaller bits with the blade-end of the spatula.
Cooking the sausage alongside the pasta will decrease overall prep time for this dish.
