Pumpkin madness to please a happy halloween night from the kitchens of
OTACONXIXAnother Halloween themed treat for October
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
-3 tbsp. butter
-10 oz. package of marshmallows
-6 cups of Rice Crispies cereal (or any generic brand of rice cereal)
-1 bag of Tootsie Roll minis
-cooking spray
-1 very big and wide pan (I used a wok)
-1 spatula
-1 cookie sheet
-wax paper
-red and yellow food coloring (or just orange)
STEP 1:
Spray pan with cooking spray. Add butter to pan on stove over a low heat. When Butter has completely melted, add your package of marshmallows. Keep stirring until they've completely melted, make sure to keep stirring as they will burn easily. When half way melted, add about 3 drops of red food coloring and 6 drops of yellow.
STEP 2:
When marshmallows are completely melted resembling a thick paste, pour the Rice Crispies in. Fold with the spatula until completely mixed together. Remove from heat and let cool just enough so you can touch it without burning your hands.
STEP 3:
Cover the cookie sheet with wax paper and then spray your hands with the cooking spray. Takeout a handful of the mixture and mold it into a tightly packed ball about the size of a tennis ball. Place the ball onto the wax paper cover cookie sheet. Repeat the process until all your mixture is gone. Then place in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
STEP 4:
Remove from fridge. Take the tootsie rolls out of the package and mold them into little stems (if they are too hard, you can throw them into the microwave for 3 seconds to soften them) Place the tootsie stem on top of the rice ball and groove it into the top so it stays in place.
You can preserve them in the fridge for a very long time. When serving, serve at room temperature. Enjoy!
