This kind of thing is okay to put on FA, right? :P I still haven't quite worked out whether people here are interested in this kind of artwork! But he's a unicorn and he's wielding a hammer, so I'm going to assume that's all a-okay.
The story behind this piece:
So, I asked my boyfriend what I should paint next.
"Hammers," he said.
"I can't just paint hammers," I replied. "I'm a fantasy artist. Just painting 'hammers' would be boring."
"Then paint a unicorn holding a hammer," he suggested, bizarrely, and thus, Dave the unicorn was born.
Dave isn't too bright, or perhaps he just has some very un-unicorn-like ideas. In the economic slump hitting the kingdom, he decided he ought to get a job, but nobody really wants to hire a unicorn blacksmith (this being his chosen profession) since they aren't very good at wielding the tools. Therefore, Dave has to run a dodgy, backwater blacksmith's shop. It's not very popular yet, but he's sure that as soon as everyone finds out about it, the crowds will flock.
Either that, or he's a pacifist and is going about ending war in the least efficient manner possible.
I originally submitted this on deviantART and I got a few comments suggesting that the unicorn only has one ear - just to pre-empt similar comments here, he does indeed have two, just that one of them is 'flicked back' as if he is listening over his shoulder; it's hard to distinguish the ear from his white mane. I'm... er... too lazy to change it. :P

The ear is thicker than what you're possibly perceiving, I think - what I think you can see is the white 'front' of the ear, but - if you had spotted this, excuse me - the side/back of the ear is visible to the left of the white front; the shadow at the base of the ear is visible above the horn. :P I should really make it clearer but this is such an old piece... and I'm lazy. :P
And quite. :P
And quite. :P
I'm not sure that I've drawn anything ghostly before, come to think of it - except for when I faked a ghost photo and sent it to GhostStudy when I was 14. It got on the website and is still there today, 6 years later! http://ghoststudy.com/monthly/oct04/attic.htm
It's so terrible that I have no idea how it got on the site!

IO see this and think, unicorns are magical, why have a hammer in the mouth what they can just use their horns to levitate their tools. I think this more natural approach is different, and a traditional funny anomaly, I like like it; and what did you use, traditional paints or is this done in photoshop?
