MEDI! Doc, c'mon, man!

Now THAT'S very sweet, and is exactly the kind of thing that androids would be good for in harrowing experiences. Sure, they'd make good soldiers, but they'd also make great caretakers of those that aren't quite as durable as them.

Medi is older then most the droid soldiers. whilst a majority of the others were built for this war they are about 3 years average, Medi was a doctor before the war and is age 6 by the time this picture was taken

just a random scene at the battle of Gither City. Post date Quarter Season 3 Day 28 Year 2106 BM (Bi-Millenium)

The war dates to have started 2104 BM and as their history shows it ended 2111 BM a seven year conflict that started over the androids. One side (The Confederates of Life) Deemed the android as going to far and feared if nothing was done the android would replace all life. The opposing side The Free Technologic Faction felt that the Androids have every right to exist and fight for just that.

As stated in this before Medi was six by then so he was crafted in 2100 BM To be a doctor which the east side of the country Hijailia desperately needed from a plague that hit the same year. Medi (M341-7461) helped cure the patients and soon the plague ended in 2102. Hence forth why the android was considered popular amongst the east.
