A character and spieces I made up on the fly for an rp I am doing with my friend. I have dumbed them the Kaochiel. The one pictured here is my main character. She has no name as of yet, not even in the rp. Her colors/markings were inspired by the Angel Nebula Mandel http://www.phys.ncku.edu.tw/~astrol.....andel_f52a.jpg

coloration
skin: always complimentary colors or shades of just one
color, always fading into each other (often times
inspired by galaxies/nebulas)
hair: always opposite in tone to skin color (dark skin =
light hair, vise versa)
markings: either no markings or spots or some kind
size: about 6 inches at the shoulder, 12 to 15 inches long (not including the tail which is usually 1 1/2 to 2 times the body length)
eats: pretty much anything, but has a thing for fungus
has several forms
feral (natural) : my Kaochaiel is an example (above), ears can be different shapes, mane/feathering/tail hair can be different lengths, thicknesses, etc
anthro (most popular, semi natural)) : somewhere between human and feral, legs are digitigrade, tail remains that same as feral form, legs turn from human to the feral a bit above the ankle (meaning the skin color turns to the feral color, back leg feathers remain along with the entire hind foot), torso/hands/face are human, ears remain the same as the feral form, hair color is same as mane, eyes remain just like the feral but can (at will) be more human shaped
human (absorbed form, not natural) : hair remains same color as other forms, eyes same color but human shaped, everything else about them is human looking
abilities
form changing: at will
teleporting: at will, comes naturally to them
absorbing: they can absorb information or even physical traits, this means laguages/body types/habbits/etc, they are like magical sponges, absorption process is rapid and the older they are the more quickly/easily they can absorb, also the more they practice something the better and more accurate they are for example looking human
reproduction: like people they some times pair up and some times don't, they are sentient so they can fall in love, females birth live young and nurse them (MAMMALS), they can choose what form they will give birth in depending on where and how they live aka if they live among another species they will give birth looking like that species, however if they give birth in any form other then the natural one the child will be born looking like their anthro form, typically they only have one, but twins or triplets are possible (rare)

Absorption: it's more like the learning. however it can effect their physical being. They can control what they absorb. For instance a language. Listen to a few words and some how learn the entire language in it's whole. Or maybe the look of a speices, such as an elf... or even a dragon. They "learn" to look exactly like one of that species. But some things don't change, like my girl here (Her name is Celeste in the rp) has white hair and yellow eyes in her human form. And though she speaks English she has a slight accent that doesn't match any other accents known to humans.
The older they get the more "powerful" (not the best way to describe it). All of them can teleport and absorb, but some learn how to project their voice or thoughts into others minds, some learn how to remain invisible or sort of between spaces (mid teleport but can see, hear, etc what is in the place they were going to appear in), etc.
They can also reproduce via absorption. They still need the act of mating with whatever species they are with, but the child that results will still be of Kaochiel species. The only things absorbed from the none Kaochiel parent would be personality traits, maybe eye color or hair color, tendencies to like the same things. Etc. For instance Celeste's lover/mate/husband is a half human half elemental (electricity). Their son has his father's hair color, eye color, bits of his personality and a tendency to love electricity of any kind. But the boy is fully Kaochiel with the abilities there in.
