Personal History: Being the only child to two globe-trotting explorers was never easy, especially when they insisted on bringing Kara with them on their wanderlust fueled adventures. By the age of twelve, Kara had trekked the deserts of Mali, scaled the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas and navigated the dense Borneo rainforests. At the age of twenty, she set off into the world on her own, which was really when she picked up kickboxing. Watching a vicious bout in Thailand peaked her interest in the sport; one she took to with great enthusiasm.
A plane crash over a secluded region of the Amazon taught her the true meaning of survival. Seriously injured and without food or water, a chance encounter with natives saved her life, but it was several months before she was well enough to make the grueling trek out of the rainforest and back to civilization.
Fighting/Tournament Experiences: She’d been fighting in bouts in villages across Thailand to hone her skills, but it was during her stay in the Amazon that she picked up on a different kind of martial skill; relying on something far more primal, biting, scratching and doing everything and anything that maximized her chances of survival. It was cruel, it was merciless, but it meant that she would live to see another day, and it taught her a thing or two about being a bitch in the ring, it’s a cat-eat-cat world out there!
