Transparent .png, whoo!
3 x 210mm² panels of 300gsm hotpress watercolour paper (well, approximately 210mm², I'm not very good at cutting out as you can see)
pencil, acrylic (& various other) ink, gouache, acrylic gel medium

coolio
In the end I was torn between beefing up the foreground or harmonising the tonees of the whole composition...my worry was that too much intensity in the foreground (already defined by outlines) would flatten the backdrop too much.
This was one of the currently rare things that I've made answering a brief-the composition emerged from the requirement to use those three square panels [as is often the case where restrictions produce interesting results]; almost immediately this seemed to be the most 'beautiful' way to use the resources.
That is just my $0.02, though! I'm quite curious as to what story (if any) this is based on.
