The Wizard Vir (Color by MMM)
In my long-running series of stories and vignettes about my Terran golden palomino mare Meredith d'Estcourt and her Kashlanin vir friend and lover, Varan g'Raf (compilations may be found here), I have the two of them occasionally playing a computer game. Meredith introduced Varan to the game, and the two have had many interesting adventures on the various levels. Varan was curious about it, but has found that she enjoys taking a break from the everyday.
They're currently in the Land of Contusion, at about the thirteenth level. Tip: Stay away from the clowns. They're almost as bad as the baristas, I'm telling you.
Naturally, you play a character in the game, and can design an avatar. After a little thought, Varan chose a Wizard, but was a little handicapped that the game had no avatars for her race. So for the first few levels, she was a kobold.
She's rectified that, as you see; so here's Varan, in her character as a Wizard in the game, bearing her staff and spellbook.
