I tried to include everything I felt represented steampunk into a single medal. It's silly, but it sounded like fun.
Watch pieces
clock pieces
propeller
keyhole
gears
springs
etc.

Actually no. Its harder then you think. For one, none of the gears are actually touching. Two, the mainspring of the original watch has been destroyed (mainly for visual pleasure), as is the same with the escapement, balance wheel, and other parts of this medal. If to stay true to steam punk, you would have to make it tick mechanically. Which sadlly isn't possible in its current state.
No shit? I thought all the gears were making contact! And the key hole, small key, propeller, and bit of mirror shard? I honestly thought they'd all come from the same watch! Effin-A!
Tu parles sarcasm?
Now I know your gallery is full of steampunk stuff and obviously you're some kind of expert, but nonetheless I'll thank you not to leave snippy comments on my art. And, for the record, spinning gears are not the all-important ingredient in steampunk. For it be TRULY steampunk it simply has to be recognizable as steampunk. The elements used must be steampunk in nature; and if they move that's great - but if not it's still steampunk until it is designated otherwise by the artist or someone credible. Please make some jewelry so I can tell you how it's wrong.
Eff you, sir. Stop trolling.
To everyone else:
Ask anyone who knows me. I'm actually a nice guy. Except when pretentious d-bags go out of their way to try and show how smart they are. Such people obviously do this to make up for the fact that they possess a tiny penis; in the real world and cyberspace alike. And, for the record, even though the components wouldn't move it would be easy to rig this to make a ticking sound. Especially when you consider that there's a backside to the piece with nothing on it.
