I commissioned
KittyDee for this one. Thanks so much, Dee!
The fantastic Satisfactory has been consuming my mind lately, and it has been increasingly hard not to dwell on the fact that the main character has a pretty similar build to Ali. Add in the fact that they both have a lot of experience with engineering, and I just couldn't ignore it any more. So, please enjoy Ali the FICSIT Incorporated Pioneer! She's just arrived via drop pod, and is warming up her build gun while scouting out the perfect location for a home base. There's going to be so much industry.
Ali's degree and work experience is in electrical engineering, which is probably a little bit different from large-scale metal and petrochemical processing, but don't count her out just yet! She's spent many hours designing and debugging intricate systems, and I think we're going to see some pretty serious, well-organized factories pretty soon. Just wait until she gets her hands on that turbofuel recipe!

It's fun to restart in other areas, too! My first game was in the dune desert, so I got used to wide-open spaces for building, with mini-bases scattered here and there to collect and process materials before tractoring them home for use. It was a bit of a culture shock to restart in the northern forest with five pure iron nodes just right there, but with the place being just lousy with hills and greenery, and the nearest coal like 2 km away.
So how long do you think she'll last before she inevitably caves and starts using company property to build herself her own personal candy factory?
This is a pretty cool idea though, it makes me wonder what games other members of your cast could star in.
*Meanwhile in Subnautica, deep below the oceans of Planet 4546B.*
*CRUNCH!!!*
Cyclops: "Warning: Creature Attack! Warning: External hull damage detected!"
Ghost Leviathan: *shrieking nightmare noises*
Gale: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Gloria: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Personally, I tend to have neat belts inside my factories, with careful 90 degree turns and such. Routing materials between factories tends to get done with highways of stacked belts (my current game has one that's 12 high) that snake around a little bit. Things do tend to be a little spaghetti in the early game, though, and it's hard not to get a little messy if you prefer to have containers of all of your production products in one area, with 30-something belts coming in from the back for deliveries.
Ali, meanwhile, is probably the type of player who makes those perfectly aligned parallel belts with the fancy multi-level load balancers. I wouldn't put it past her to make one of those crazy 300 m^3/min fuel to 16 GW power generation systems, with the diluted turbo fuel package/unpackage loop. A little upfront design work makes a big difference!
