My college's mascot is one of these and looks NOTHING like one. https://mascothalloffame.com/mascot.....the-bearcat-3/ The binturong from the local zoo sometimes comes to be the mascot for games. But I think they should commission you take make a "bear cat" suit that actually looks like a bear cat. They only use one of a mascot because they once played a game against another school called the Wild Kats, but Cincinnati didn't have a mascot. They lost to the other team and decided they did need a mascot. They didn't think to use a real animal like a tiger, a wolf, bear or lion, but just sketched something out and said it was a made up creature called a "bear cat". Then one day they found out binturongs existed and also go by bear cat. They still call themselves "Bear Cats" but their mascot looks like a black panther.
