2016 art of one of my rarely-used characters, a hyena soldier who was severely wounded in combat, and subjected to an experimental reconstruction procedure at the hands of a certain morally ambiguous paramilitary corporation...

His armor is a prototype power armor, combined with cybernetic implants and enhancements and life-support systems, and set in motion the expansion of the cybernetics programs after the procedure was successful. While the augmentation lacks the grace of later cybernetic implants like those used by cyborgs such as Six-Five, it's still a very effective setup nevertheless.

Both his story and his appearance seem to get revised every time I draw him, it seems, so it's probably for the best to just leave things a bit more on the mysterious side for now. This isn't his current look, either--I haven't drawn him in forever, but the next time I do, his armor will be much bulkier, and he'll lose that eyepiece that looks like it belongs on a Borg drone--a portrait I drew of him in 2020 features a prosthetic eye similar to what Six-Five was given instead.
