It's not hard to train a cat. I've done so many times. You just have to be consistent with what you want, praise good behavior and use detraction for bad behavior. I used negative sounds, like "no", "nu-uh", etc. I've taken cats that were practically feral and gotten them to be the most cuddly cats in the span of a year. The thing with cats is they take much longer than dogs do. Dogs you can train in a week to month. A cat can take a year or two for the same thing.
