The vulture and funeral director Sarcophagus Macabre strolling. In the original strip it's with Wiley Katt, a rarely-seen but, well, wild and troublemaking and dangerous person. Also in this 1958 sequence I discover Walt Kelly had forgotten that Macabre spoke in an ornate, dripping, funereal text with decorated word balloons. Or he thought the strips would be too packed and dark if they were included. Macabre and Katt broke up Mouse and Snavely's speakeasy school, which is how that storyline reached its end.
