Jackpot! It's even better because Pop-Tarts come in that shiny foil pouch thing, and raccoons like shiny.
We're very fortunate that Charley is a somewhat inept petty thief easily distracted by shiny things, he might break into a house with the intention of getting a new TV, but upon realizing how large the TV is in comparison to himself, will just settle on the spare change sitting on the table and the toaster from the kitchen.

That *does* sound like something Charley would do! I also think of him as someone who would get foiled by getting stuck trying to crawl through an opening that's just a bit too small for him, or who would give away his hiding spot by breaking wind at an inopportune moment. I could probably come up with dozens of comedic ways for him to fail at his petty thieving antics. This is why he only ever seems to spend a week in jail at most before getting released--he's a petty thief and a nuisance, but he's also job security for the cops!
