Digital stuff does help. :) It realllllly helps to have an 'undo' button, no matter what program you're using. It takes me forever to do anything traditionally because I lack an undo button IRL. xD

You might want to look into getting OpenCanvas? I know awhile ago there was a free version around the web, of the older version ... it's really nice for painterly things. :)

T'would be awesome if I knew how to do shading as good as this. :3

Yup! Photoshop. It's mostly just shading using the gradient tool - here's a very simple tutorial by another artist! http://combuskensflame.deviantart.c.....g-pt2-65400051

I usually do two layers though - one with lighter shading, and one with darker. :)

Another thing I've always wondered is how people get such precise lines... is that from using the ink tool? The one with an icon shaped like a pen?

A lot of people do that, but I'm horrible with using it. :) I just use the brush tool and ink freehand ... but I also ink at a very high magnification, and I generally work *big*. So I resize to something smaller later on, which also helps get lines smooth. :)

Heh, I always just use the brush when I do photoshop pics... you can probably tell. :3

Actually the only PS one I've done is my avatar, so lul... and it's really dodgy. xD
