Guess he forgot the belt, or maybe he lost a little weight. I've lost some weight myself but haven't gotten around to buying new pants yet, being in that weird area where I'm just a bit too big to fit into the next lowest size, but the current ones are a bit loose. When that happens, a belt is a necessity.
Or, you can skip the belt and have your pants fall down, that works too.
