he was born in a serf (a synonym for slave) family, his father was taken away for military service when he was still a child (hasnt returned, not sure if is sill alive), mother died from pneumonia, he was bought by a blacksmith as his apprentice out of empathy, almost reaching adulthood left him with his approval and joined a caravan guard mercenary band, as a blacksmith ''son'' he sorta knew how to smith decent tools and had some weapon skill, but since he was still young didnt learn everything. the following years he guarded caravans and reached far southern and eastern places. after quite a few years spent in far places, the circumstances made him get involved in a foreign conflict, which in the end left some ''quirks'' in his head. Right after that he returned to his homeland with quite a bit of earnings from his mercenary-work. when he returned the whole country was post civil war, thanks to which he joined a raiding party and quickly earned his high status amongst them with his ''quirks'', soon after lost his arm in a defeating skirmish against the imperial forces
