Shortly after my experience with the "non-believers", I heard a shriek of delight from somewhere behind me.
Then I heard the pounding of feet running up the pier towards me.
Before I knew it, I was getting tackle hugged by this fine fur.
Really, what are the odds of meeting a furry at random? Especially one wearing full Tigger regalia and a con badge?...
The moment captured here is one of the high spots in my suiting experience.
Seeing her bounce around and breathlessly explain to her friend what a fursuiter is really made the whole day worthwhile.
For some reason, we ended up singing "Twist and Shout" and skipping down the pier hand in paw. Her friend just watched in amazement.
I thanked her profusely for her enthusiasm and support. As I left, I overheard the beginning of that conversation that we all dread as she endeavored to explain to her friend what a furry is.
And why she is one...

When I can suit no more, Greg and I head out for a beer and laugh our butts

Well, my friend, I have an assignment for you. Go check out a band called Feed the Kitty (www.myspace.com/feedthekitty). The lead singer is vegan, atheist, and furry-friendly. They play all over southern california and the OC area 4-6 shows per week. Tell him Shawkagh says hello and that he owes you a drink!
Just pop in with Greg, take a picture before anyone can stop you, and leave. Ditch the suit and go back for the show! That'd be HILARIOUS. You'll think of something. I have to go to bed :( I will be dreaming of this all night I bet. You made my day (even more than passing the 3 unit bridge prep. exam this morning! And that's saying something!)
*waggwaggwagg* Wow! You got a rare treat there! Did you find out if she has an FA page? That is quite something to meet another furry when just out and about. You are a lucky doggy! I think it is cool that your antics caused her to come out to her friend as a furry too. The more people understand the better. There are some people who know me whom don't know about my furryness. I am sure they would be surprised to find out, I'll tell them if they ask but I am not going to be proactive about it hehe. Once again, fantastic pictures DB! I am appreciative of Greg also, he is a good spotter and friend. *hugs*

Being furry isn't the kind of thing you want to advertise 'cause it needs soooo much explanation. But so far the reactions from people I've told have been positive.

haha glad you got some cheering up . I saw some furries in tails and ears in a Target store by my house one day. (obviously NOT furries!) Random sightings. Then the usual "OMG it's a furry!!" at anime cons; run, hug, bounces! So good :3 And to Greg. You are awesome *buys him a beer!*
