The thing is, I don't do that. :)
I think it looks lazy/cheap. and also those photos tend to just be taken from Google Images, and that doesn't automatically mean they're free to be used. I don't have a good collection of stock photography and have never really known where to get my hands on it. Using photos for backgrounds isn't really my thing.
