This is yet another of the series with Jasmine and Shaman.
In this particular moment, Shaman has fully captured Jasmine and is obviously cat-bathing her. Awww. A rare and tender moment between siblings!
What's probably the most impressive about this picture is a few of the "oh wow!" items visible here. For example, one never realizes how big a cat tongue is until a pic like this comes along. So that's Sham’s tongue, slurping over Jasmine’s entire skull with all that wet-20-grit-sandpaper finesse. Then, there's the paw that's the size of her whole head! Damn that's big! Jasmin, through it all, just endures it patiently.
Anyway, this is more conspiracy to fuel Lady Bryn's inspiration. }:> I hope you all enjoy it!
This picture was taken 24-Jun-03. The image was taken with a Canon EOS 10D and the EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM lens. The original was taken at full frame of 3072x2048x24b, ISO eqv 400, 1/180 shutter, f/5.6. This image was shrunken down for space conservation.

The funny part is meal time. Shaman may be twice Jasmine's size, but she can pack a heck of a punch when he's in the way of her food.
I've seen her reach up a paw and smack him so hard she sits him on his tail. It's so totally hysterical to see such a little girl kick the stuffing out of such a big cat. And he looks so totally shocked by it, it makes it even funnier!

It all starts that way. You fall so completely in love with them, and 20 years later, you still feel the same. Not too many things in life are like that, but passions are!
This July, it'll be 26 years since I became so completely mesmerized with cougars, and 24 years in June, when one turned my life so completely upsidedown forever. They're like that. They change you. You'll never be the same.

She might be. :)
Their fur is quite a bit more course, although bobcats and lynxs tend to be really soft, especially in the winter.
Cougars are rather short-furred, so even though it's much softer than human hair, it tends to feel course. Tigers are even more so, but are still fairly soft in comparison to a human's. Lions are downright course, and a male's mane is almost like pulling your fingers through long fibers of steel wool; it's /really/ course.
The thicker fur around the necks and shoulders of most cats is very soft, and especially on their undersides and even chin and chest, it's amazingly soft.

Thanks for replying. I've always wanted to know that:) I've always just thought of all furry things as being really soft:p But then i started thinking about the big dogs i know(like huskys and alaskan malamutes). And then my vision of the fur thing changed in a heartbeat:p And concidering that i'll probably never will get the oppertunity to touch a large cat like those, i've just never thought i'd get the chance to know either:) It's not like any of the books i've read has answered that for me:s So thanks:) At least now i have a certain idea of what they feel like...
You never know what life's journey can bring. If you want something bad enough, then chances are, you'll figure out a way to make the dream come to life. That's what I did. 25-years ago, I never would have imagined being where I am today. Life's just like that. :)
Books are always fascinating, but usually written for the masses. If you have any curiosities or questions and think I might be able to help, definitely ask. That's one of the reasons I'm here. :)

They were at their snuggling for about five minutes, and I got probably thirty shots. Jazzi and Shams are very social, but seeing them together and snuggling is rare. Jasmine tends to stay away from Shaman, most because Shaman pesters the snot out of her constantly. But of course, isn't that what brothers are supposed to do? :)
