One of the earliest memories I have of my lifetime is watching repeats of Classic Concentration with my mom, and wondering why it wasn't a match when somebody got a red TAKE! and a green TAKE!

Exactly. My brother and I also frequently played the heck out of the DOS game version of Classic Concentration, long after the show was cancelled. I just had a few embarrassing moments where I had to ask my mom for help on figuring out the rebus puzzles, since I was a kid and didn't understand the concept of a rebus. Wheel of Fortune, on the other hand, was a game I have no problems with.

I remember the UK version but only lasted for 2 seasons. Also the Green Take in the 2nd season of Concentration UK was used as a "Swap" to swap which of the prizes they got for each round for a prize of either £1 (ugh so low), £50 or £100.

What happened if somebody matched two WILD! cards in the same turn? Do you know?

I see. I knew there was some bonus. Unlike the US version, the UK version didn't allow for a bonus pick; it just showed those two pieces of the puzzle. In the US, if you found multiple WILD! cards, you got to pick another number, and the natural match was then revealed, crediting you with that prize.

Such a pity both the US and UK versions didn't last long, and that TVS Production (UK TV station based in Maidstone, England) didn't allow cars to be won instead of one of those vacations. And that TV company lost its franchise in 1991 and axed that show.

I had a feeling that was the case. Here in the US, Classic Concentration also ended in 1991, but NBC did not have a legitimate reason to end the series; it was doing well enough to continue. NBC, however, has a history of poor decision making; here is a story from the late but great Monty Hall, one of our legendary game show hosts, that I think best illustrates that:

The UK sort of had a show like this; it was Trick or Treat, but Julian Clary was involved in that one.

I see, mind you the original TVS logo looked similar to the rainbow peacock NBC logo.
