This Garrison G10 was my daughter’s first guitar. She kindly loaned it to me for this photoshoot. The wood used for this instrument is a thing of beauty. The black binding is actually part of Garrison’s unique one-piece bracing system.
Garrison was founded in 1999 and operated out of a plant located in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. A key feature of Garrison acoustic guitars was their innovative active bracing system, which was made of a single piece of fiberglass composite. The company was acquired by Gibson Guitar Corporation in 2007, which halted production of the Garrison product line in 2010.

They really were terrific instruments. When I bought this for my daughter, I picked up a Garrison 12-string for myself. But I let that go to make room for my Ovation Pacemaker. I do miss the Garrison and it was a pleasure to play this one, even if it has only half as many strings.
