A sad Beauty,
A black and white rainbow,
The Flower of Grey Petals.
Shunned by Some,
Accepted by All,
Those who see True Beauty
In All of Life.
I pluck the flower
Of Grey Petals,
The Black-and-white Lily,
And hold it
To my Tulips.
I take a Breathe
Of Wind,
And an Aroma
So melancholy,
A Moonlight Sonata,
Except an Aria,
For this was no Field
Of Wildflowers.
One would condemn
The Flower of Grey Petals,
That Black-and-White Lily,
To being ugly.
But those with the
Eyes to See
And the Nose
To Scent,
They know
That
The Flower of Grey Petals,
With her drooping black leaves and
Sad, small petals,
Those With Eyes can See
A scarlet throat,
Bright as a splash of Blood
‘gainst Canvas
Of Stamens,
And they can See
Sprigs of Pollen,
Like Noonday Suns,
And though the World
Is not a Rainbow,
For the Night is yet to Come,
Please note the The Small Things
That make something Beautiful,
And Don’t judge a Flower
By a petal.
I was feeling melancholy, and poetry cheers me up.
A black and white rainbow,
The Flower of Grey Petals.
Shunned by Some,
Accepted by All,
Those who see True Beauty
In All of Life.
I pluck the flower
Of Grey Petals,
The Black-and-white Lily,
And hold it
To my Tulips.
I take a Breathe
