Neither Egg nor Rask would have had reason or time to attack. It's impossible to imagine anyone there tearing a body apart.

Whoever did it would need to get the stench of blood off them; there's no way that they could have avoided getting it on them if the body was torn apart.

It is mentioned on one of the earlier pages that Sprig claws the trees along the territorial border, in such a way that it resembles a bear's claws ripping into them. Scares the wolves away. How he does that though, I am not entirely sure.

Little confused how we're getting a spear pointed one way in the first panel and then in the second panel the characters being pointed at are now on the other side.

The first panel is from Rask and Egg's point of view. Then we move to view Oren and etc from Cotton's POV in the second panel.

As expected Hemlock is instantly on Rask, totally forgetting that she saw him enter the forge.

The last panel is gold. All the prey now have the same expression as Rask 2 pages back and Rask now sees also what Oren meant by how fragile the peace here is. Now would be his time to shine. After all he is mid pred so the smell of blood is not making him panic which means he is able to inspect the corpse and possibly deduct even who was responsible.

The page , Hemlock dies a hopefully painfull way, will be the one I fave so much

actually it was nazi's who caused the holocaust not German citizens and lets not forgot basically no country loved jews before WW2 not liking them was universally common. Obviously the holocaust was bad but the hate was just not in Germany or among the nazi's. As for her hate while her family was killed she has been around two predators so far who are good examples of why her hatred among all of a different species/race is incorrect.

that is true the predator is not Rask or egg it is probably on of the wolf pack that tracked Rask to the glade... or even a new predictor most likely a wolverine they have no problem of invading a bears territory. or tearing a jack rabbit apart...

Hmm.. So last page Cotton said Craic's throat was torn out and now he's saying he was torn to pieces.. That's a little conflicting but it might just be due to fear and panic..

A lot of speculation on the last page included murder because of the throat-torn-out thing. I think Black Teagan wants to make it clear that it goes further than that. It's very possible that the first thing Cotton noticed was that Craic's throat was gone. Given the sheer amount of panic we're seeing here, I think fear and panic would cause Cotton to misremember things until they calm down a bit more.

Bows seem conceivable, I'm surprised they don't already have them, they got everything they need. Firearms though ... that would be an extreme stretch. Crude metalworking isn't going to get there.

This does capture the confusion and apprehension in the scene. Hemlock is so blinded by her fear of predators that she'll look for anything that confirms it. While Oren is trying to calm the situation and establish the facts first. I like how the theme and storyline is progressing here, well done👍👍👍👍

I would replace fear with hate and prejudice. if she feared them not sure she would wear the skin of one.

Trying to prove a level of power over something or someone (in this case: wearing a predator’s pelt and threats) can actually be linked to fear. Let me emphasize, this is very much a bad thing. It is essentially an extremely disturbing coping mechanism that can cause some real problems. In other words, it becomes a way of telling herself she is no longer powerless, but has the consequence of targeting individuals that have not directly harmed her (i.e. Rask and Egg).

hope they get there shit together soon some safety in numbers...and the rabbit is right only a bear could do that to a hare that fast... so the cave bear is not dead or its mate came back... or the marks did not fool the predator staking the colony and another bear moved into the valley... If they where that worried about safety the should have set up alarms or more armed patrols...
