A butterfly whom Pogo encountered during a sequence that got to talking about public schools. (Some southern states had closed all public schools, rather than integrate, because racists will always take every painful and self-destructive path before granting decency to non-whites.) I think it's my first butterfly, although I concede there's some similarities to the firefly a couple weeks back. This character, like others I've noticed from about 1958, is drawn with more whitespace. If this were drawn in 1953 I'm sure there'd be all sorts of detail on the wings.
