Now, this piece has a little bit of a story behind it. Originally I was going to attempt to take a snapshot of this guy behind the safety glass, but the glass was so fogged and scratched up that getting a decent photo was nigh on impossible. My mate suggested that we walk around to see if we could get a better shot, and as we rounded the corner I discovered that yes, I could get a better shot, but definitely not an awesome closeup like I really wanted. Anyway, I zoomed in as much as I could and got him as he was napping and if you look ~really~ close, you can see that his tongue is sticking out! Also, I never realized how MASSIVE these creatures are until you're standing right up next to them. Oddly enough though, this was the only lion I saw...I didn't see any lionesses anywhere, which I though was strange.
