Taken yesterday at the Brookfield Zoo here in Illinois. I was amazed at how open the exhibits are, especially in the houses for the animals. I mean, at one point I was about maybe 5 feet away from these elephants. I really appreciate this, though, because it offered me quite a nice vantage point for my shot. Unfortunately there was no way I could avoid having the metal bars in there...but besides that, this is my first time seeing African elephants up close. The only elephants they have back at the zoo in my home state are Asians, so this was a treat, :D.
