Staying with friends in Brisbane we found a book of theirs called Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.
It is an instructional book that claims to be able to teach anyone to draw well by learning to use the right side of their brain.
The book asks the student to draw four pictures before starting the lessons so as to have a benchmark to measure their improvement against.
Drawing one: Draw a picture of a person without looking at anyone. There are no specific directions for this drawing only the general direction to "draw a person."

Yeah, I'm planning to do all the exercises and become awesomely good at drawing!
I'll definitely be posting my sketches as I work through the exercises.
I already did the first exercise last night, but it was just the faces and vase illusion so I don't think I'll post that, I'll just post the actual serious progress pictures as I get to them.
Thanks for the comment and watch and all!
