Orbital Defence Battleship CLV Vyasmo, at your service.
The Vyasmo belongs to the Exciting Class of Battleships (It´s really called that: Exciting), built by the Espen Defence Dockyards. The Exciting Class was initially not living up to its name: a cheap copy of the Alrash, it was slow, weakly armoured and armed, and was badly balanced, resulting in a variety of accidents.
However, being a very faraway system, Espen could not afford building the more advanced construction facilities and training facilities to build its own main-line designes, designed in the heartworlds, or even educate its personal in the operation and construction, instead opting to correct the faults in the promising, but flawed first generation of the Exciting class.
Vyasmo belongs to the third and most widely constructed generation. All beam weaponery has been removed from this design, instead a large combine-launcher device has been installed in the nosecone, enabling the ship to fire a wide range of missles and projectiles. While large and heavy, this device allows for quick and cheap modification of the ships mission profile.
Gen. 3 Exciting battleships can even have a hangar installed in place of the launcher, turning into ad-hoc carriers or transport vessels. The main engines are fairly small, and the large sensor-laden tailfins of the heartworld designs are missing, resulting in a much lower fuel consumption. Folding radiators are of the rigid type, unfolding in an X-shape from the top and bottom of the stub-wings, which also serve as battle-heatsinks. Jettisoneable cargo elements arestowed aft of the weapons section, while the crew is housed left and right of the command and control section.
Gen 1 and 2 ships had a N-space slingshot drive, while Gen 3 has been upgraded to a relatively precise break-switch slingshot drive. The main drives are two, duo-bottle antimatter drives.
Camouflage is obviously pointless in space, its main role is psychological. The coloured markers on the hull are repeated on the inside of every major part, and serve to identify the ship in case of a catastrophy. They also help in visually IDing a ship when it enters the harbour.
A tradition in all Csye fleets is to give the ships bright and elaborate paintjobs, making no ship look like the other. The Vyasmo is identifiable by the labyrinth-pattern on its back, as well as the large "Vyasmo" scripture on the top of the reactor housing, and the flag-stripes left and right of the C&C bubbles.
To be honest, I hate how this picture came out. I might remove it later if I still feel like this about it in a weeks time, but I dunno. What do you think?

Personally, I adore the paintjob and design. For siplay purposes at the least it should be centred better, bot other than that, I think it's fantastic.
One thing I think is missing though, is small point defense turrets, but that's onyl because I'm addicted to them haha. Turret fetish anyone? :P

Actually, at that point I was so annoyed with the picture that I just slapped ten texture layers on it and uploaded it. it was supposed to get detail panels, decals, laser emitters, hatches and rescue pod ejectors, small things like that.
I´m glad you like, though personally, I can´t seem to figure how to fix this thing 8(
Also, thx for the comment, it´s rly appreciated!
