Making a picture - Step One
I'm betting that
teric is going to explode with glee over this. Heehee.
Every artist does one tutorial and this one is mine. I don't know how my method works out compared to other people, but this is how I go from start to finish.
Firstly we have the pencil sketch done on a sketchbook. Some artists have beautifully perfectly managed pencil lines. Mine are a squiggly sloppy mess of circles and guidelines and all sorts of other things. I start out by laying down my basic linework in erasable non photo blue (some people will use the red erasables) until I have enough of a defined shape that I'm ready to tighten the image a little. At that point I'll pick the lines I want to ink by going over it again with a mechanical pencil.
This character is a winged wolf with a tiger cub companion. The tiger cub is a special breed without any stripes.
