Rat babies are the best, i caved in when i volenteered at a reptile refuge and adopted a pair of rats i watched grow up... this is what happens when you play with your food...it ends up coming home alive and living in your room and stealing your peas.

LOL very true. Some of the best rat owners I know started because they were breeding reptile food. You won't hear a complaint from me, provided it's done humanely and the animal is killed before consumption. Snake's gotta eat.

especially rescue snakes! I basically spearheaded/took over the breeding project with the same idea kobe cattle farmers use- TLC makes fat, tasty, yummy animals. My little sqeakers work darn hard making the most adorable yum yums ever, so i make sure they get the care most pets do, minus the handling. and yes i pre kill all ether CO2 or old cervical. their end is all part of responsible and good care.

nuff of that tho, nochez and clooney the looney are living the good life, albeit nochez prolly hates me for taking him away from his concubines XD

*nods* See, I actually see that as far more humane than what the prepackaged f/t animals in the store go through =/ I never understand how people can say that you're cruel to breed your own food that way and in the same breath advise you to buy f/t which not only were usually raised in completely inappropriate conditions, but many times aren't even killed before putting them in the freezer! Egads. Totally not cool.

i dont get people who will feed half starved, sick rats to thier prized snakes -.-. its like cooking, you get results when you cook with loooove. and im willing to bet the snakes can tell the difference between a pampered little well fed and watered butterball that has been given acess to minimalistic things like a friggin WHEEL to tone its muscles up, and well... junk food rats lol.

ooooh i LOVE this wrinkly stage! my parents bought be little feeder mice as pets when i was young (which i adored) and one happened to be pregnant so we got to have cute little pink babies like these...suuuuuuuuch an exciting experience. :P

My foster males, all the other males in my house are neutered. I had them all together for more than 6 months in the same room, seperate cages. through a freak accident, the female managed to escape and squeezed through the male's bars to have a very good night. I found her in the morning buzzing in heat. After discussing with the rescue and the vet we opted to let her have the litter.

rats are tricksy animals. Might want to try a new cage, they can get into a lot of trouble out, including chewing cords. Kitties are cute, I love cats.

welll my sisters one i dont like to touch even thought they never do what u said they normally do they ssell to me just these one though i dont have a problem wif em i just dont like stinky pets ferrets are cool even albino skunks and ravens are the shit when theyre albino even love al sorts of animals specaily snakes ohhh just so likable for me but ya getting off track how long till they mature eh

Dude Tira got me on Sunday. She grabbed on pretty tight. I have some slight nerve damage in my finger.

But of course, I am not mad. I was in her space, touching her babies. She was just being a good mommy :).
