Anyone who follows Phelous on YouTube, Patreon and his own website is likely familiar with his series Bootleg Zones, and probably his most well known series in Bootleg Zones outside of the many Ninja Turtles knock offs is the infamous Galaxy Black Hole, filled to the brim with numerous Masters of the Universe knock offs, such as Galaxy Warriors, Galaxy Fighters, Swords and Sorcerers, and the ever so cleverly named Wrestler to name a few.
Well, after seeing his review of Galaxy Warriors when it came out a few years ago I made it my mission to try and get a figure of my favorite character from the series, the Obsidian Gladiator (my nickname for him,) Spikes. My only gripes with this figure are his right arm's a bit loose (though that can be fixed by slightly readjusting the harness) and his helmet doesn't have the plume on top. But other than that, this figure is awesome. And considering it's supposed to be a knockoff, it has amazing quality to boot. Nothing about it feels cheap in the slightest, I could honestly believe it was made from one of the higher up toy companies, like Mattel who did the actual MOTU figures. Surprisingly, though, his legs don't have the elastic joints. Heck, they don't even have joints at all, they've either been glued or it's a solid piece of plastic. But that's honestly for the best as it helps him stand much easier.
I know a lot of you are probably going "But BALTARD!" Well, here's the thing, even with his weapon bought separately, Spikes only cost me about 60-70 dollars. Any Baltard figures I found in good condition are at the cheapest 100. And usually without any accessories, so that's another 50+ I'd have to add onto that. So, yeah, sorry Baltard fans, but that's asking too much.
