Thought I'd show my (admittedly sketchy) wanderings as I trim a story into focus. I went with Mars as the subject after coming across a show on lava formations in Hawaii and a geologist noted a similarity to 'ancient Mars'. Once I had the subject, I needed a story. It had to have a plot and I hope you can see as this story moved from innocent to something much more sinister. I will clean it up tomorrow for the final submission, but the last entry is the one I'm using.
