You have 143 due commissions and you're still open? Does this mean if someone bought one of these, they'd have to wait until 3/4 months for a turnaround?

I'm currently closed for commissions. These are just limited available slots. I accept commissions 2-3 months in advance. My wait time is 2-3 months.
I do about 30-35 pieces a month if not more that's why my queue is so long. However, I got bedridden and sick in March/April so I'm about a month behind.

Sounds like you're a bit money hungry, mate. Opening 2-3 months in advance? Having over a hundred commissions in a queue? Asking people to fork over more than half a hundred dollars and wait a quarter of a year for a turnaround? I went through your queue and your price list to wager that of the 143 people in your queue, you've been paid at least $6,200 — and you want to take on and people to pay 5x fullbodies and 5x busts, making it $6,700.

I can say I'll be dropping you as an artist to hit up. Can't imagine having to wait a quarter of a year for an artist who owes at least six grand in art to get back to me, haha.

I've commissioned mama and I waited a few months, but they do top tier work and stellar quality with every piece. They deliver all the time. They're well known in my friend circle and have a perfect track record.

They reply within a day or two, I got so many updates, transparency, down to earth service and so did all my friends (at least 20 folk)

Long queue artists exist, their business practise might not be your thing but to be like this is so damn rude.

A perfect track record? They themselves have said that when they got sick, they fell behind by a month. Long queue artists sure do exist, but I don't think it's good business practice to hold so many people's money in your posssession when all range of things, like sickness, can impede on that enormous queue that could affect people having to wait 2-4 months just to see a turnaround of the $65-$100 they forked out never come to fruition. I mean, just by my calculations, it's at least over six grand. What if something happened to their drawing hand? They'd be expected to refund $6,000 of artwork. Is that good business practice to you? Because by the sound of it, it doesn't seem like they have that, considering they're wanting more.

Just curious why MamaOwl wants to add more to that frankly enormous queue when they're already behind... as is evident by this post, because they need more money, no?

I literally just saw her bank account status, She could refund everyone if need be. So yes, if something bad happened she could refund EVERYONE.

It's not abnormal for someone to wait 6 months even for art, or even a year sometimes? I have?? I'm an avid commissioner and an artist myself. I don't understand why that's so hard for you to understand lol. Just because she got sick doesn't mean she does not have a perfect record of delivering every art she's commissioned for???

Guess what? Artists aren't machines. We get sick. Shit happens. If they wanted a refund they'd get it? But they're all content.. bar you. Someone who doesn't even know her, and has already stated you won't commission her. If it isn't your thing, why bother saying anything at all?

She gets about 1k a month, it all goes on bills. She is a long queue artist so she can be covered for a few months.

my guy, this aint it. You're making assumption after assumption on Mamaowl's practice when you have apparently got no idea. Have you ever even commissioned them? Mama is incredibly transparent about updates, wait times, and queues. You can gladly go on if you don't like the way she handles her business. People aren't machines. Stuff comes up, and when it does, Mama always lets everyone know.
