Yeah,
Artan118 did a truly fantastic job with the main theme. He got the feeling of old 3D platformer nailed right on the head with this track.
There are some questions in the spotlight that I think I can help answer:
Just as the music would suggest, the environment is going to be very tribal. Nach starts out in the jungle and works his way through a volcano, snowy mountain tops, a desert and finally the evil lair where he fights the big bad guy and saves the princess.
Nothing about this is truly original, but I thought it would be a good start as my first major game project.
As for the bad guy himself:
His name is Warral. You'll never know exactly what he is, as he'll be dressed in a robe and have his face covered in a skull mask (so who knows, he might just be a wolf). His motivation for capturing the princess is to collect three crystals of power with which he can summon an army to take over the whole world. Basic villain stuff.
The last dev video is from a month ago as I've hit a hurdle... a wall, so to speak, in programming my character and I'm still figuring out a solution. Either way, here's the vid:

You can never go wrong with making your protag's goal to saving a princess! Has me wondering how the 3D platformer will work, like what actions you'll be able to pull off.
Thanks for assuring that I might be in trouble with the bad guy lol if they turn out to be a wolf, then I'll feel no shame as I'm a wolf seeking justice for villains such as them!
I hope you break down that wall, I have the same walls come up while making music at times. I will watch both dev demos the next morning, I want to watch it all at it's fullest :)

As my first game project I'm not going to do anything super complex like wall running, or other such advanced movement features.
Platforming will be pretty simple, with the first levels not having too much in platforming challenges and it getting more difficult as time goes on.
Basic platform hazards are the idea: a pit full of spikes, endless drops, lava. Things you need to generally jump over. In the meantime you'll also be fighting enemies, which will be the more modern aspect of the game since the intention is to have attack combos (light attack chains and heavy attack chains).
There will also be something hopefully more challenging in the game, something that compels players to replay levels or to try out more difficult platforming routes: Each level will have exactly 100 coins. Coins you have picked up will not respawn, meaning you can go back and collect the coins you have missed. Every time you have picked up 100 coins the player will gain a health upgrade. Basically you can survive one hit more every time you collect 100 coins. So this means you could make later levels easier for yourself by hunting down all the coins in earlier levels so you can survive getting hit more.
Otherwise the player starts with just 5 lives/health. 5 times your player can get damaged before game over and starting over from last save.
