Have been taking part in a D&D campaign recently with some friends and some new people, and decided to try drawing my character.
Meet Ariqorel (pronounced Ari Quarrel)
A Blue Grung and a Cleric. (Nature Domain)
Don’t let the goofy smile I drew him with fool you, he’s not a nice froggy.
Grung are typically slavers, and while Ari here hasn’t got any slaves currently. He does now own a monkey companion.
Not too bright, completely devoid of charisma, quick to violence, a fan of slow (poisonous) torture, a lover of alligators. And able to hold grudges for an eternity. Ariqorel is just a little bundle of nasty.
But, for the sake of his divine quest, given to him by his goddess Ragarra, he’ll have to play nice with the band of adventurers and mercenaries he’s fallen in with.
Travelling the world with them he hopes to find a cure to the unending frost that has stricken his rainforest homeland.
While also helping his new “friends” with their task of finding lost ancient tablets under orders from a wealthy aristocrat.
I didn’t have much of a handle on Ari’s character when I made him. But 3 sessions in I’ve determined he’s basically a sadistic, poisonous, torture happy Invader Zim being forced to do good in order to serve his own needs.
He also has a tendency to use “Grung” in place of certain words or curses “son of a Grung” etc.
I wasn’t sure when I made him. But I’m growing quite attached to my little froggy slave lord. And I look forward to seeing where this journey he’s on will take him.
I’m still new to D&D (this being only my second campaign) so there’s a lot I don’t understand, but it’s been fun so far.
