The thing that made this rivalry so great in the first place is how Sonic, despite his super speed, was unable to catch Knuckles because of his cleverness. He would set up traps that Sonic continually ran into head first. Fast forward to today and Knuckles is played off as an idiot who only knows how to throw a punch. Put this Knuckles in Sonic 3 and he would have gone down in the first round with Sonic back then.
