I keep seeing cute images of kobolds in fashionable clothes who live in a modern non-D&D setting. I just couldn't get the idea of the Kobold Party in modern day clothing out of my head so here we are. We're leading of with some fashionable Tess!
I suppose this takes place in some alternate universe instead of their fantasy D&D world? I haven't given the backstory behind it much thought, let's just take it at face value.

Okay, so back in the days of D&D 3.5, Wizards of the Coast made another game sing the D20 system called... D20 Modern. On it's own, D20 Modern was just about normal humans doing action-movie stuff, but a supplement called Urban Arcana, which brought D&D elements like gods and magic and fantasy races into our modern world, and it was canonically connected to the D&D worlds. I think Greyhawk specifically, it's been a while.
Huh, that's fascinating. I don't have any experience with 3.5e but it always sounds like an absolutely wild time. Bringing fantasy elements into modern times is rather intriguing. Combining magic with modern technology seems like there's a lot of room for creativity.
Thank you very much!

Hey, if you like that kind of thing, there's a setting right now called Star Finder which is a similar concept, but taking place in the one place not yet corrupted in capitalism: SPAAAAAACE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1Sq1Nr58hM
The game is called Starfinder, and uses the universal D20 system, and it's basically space D&D. Like, with elves and goblins and magic, but also aliens and spaceships and lazer guns. Sadly, no Kobolds as of yet, but I do believe they're coming, and it's not at all difficult to create your own races. Check it out if you're ever in the mood for something a little different from classic D&D. They even have a few different furry races, like the Ysoki who are cute little rat people, and another race whose name I can't remember who are basically otter people. I'm actually running a game right now, and it's a blast!

Someday, I'm going to go down the rabbit hole of exploring the wealth of other systems out there. Whenever I hear things like that it just makes me so curious. Though I will have to organise my time a little better.
The Ysoki look adorable I must say. I'm glad to hear it's fun & thank you for sharing this information with me!
