Well you see the Red mice tribe in the forrest reguarly makes buckets for honey harvests, so maybe he found one in the undergrowth

Well they make candles from the wax and barter some to other racial tribes, they also trade some of the honey but most goes to their winter stores for when they need high calories in the cold.

Mew, well they make their nests under deep woods plant and leaf fall so their usually quite warm inside, due to fementation of the plant matter, when outside in the cold they usually just have a pair of mokisons *bad spelling* made from the fine skin of minnows tanned and made warm with plant fluff like dandilion fluff.

For the tails tho, it is actually furred in a light down hard to see unless close up so they dont usually worry but they do wear tailrings and such.
