Tao is a protogen who works on an exploration ship in a crew with 3 others. His job is to maintain the electrical, life support, and computer systems. His main skills include working with both the software and the hardware of the computers, as well as information security.

His name is derived from the acronym TAO (Tailored Access Operations). TAO (Now called Computer Network Operations) is a division of the NSA that was responsible for infiltrating and gathering intelligence from computer systems.

The symbol is an equilateral triangle (I tried to draw it equilateral, but had a hard time with it), representing what's known as the "CIA Triangle" in information security. CIA stands for Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability. The triangle represents the balance between data confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and is used to demonstrate that the more you focus on one end of the triangle, it compromises the other ends.
