So today was heartbreaking, but managed to end with a small glimmer of happiness.

Every year since weve been here, weve had a little family of barn swallows nest on our porch light. This year we had 4 eggs, most weve had, in such a small nest. One little egg was late on hatching, and had us worried from the start. This little bird was usually on the bottom of the group so we didnt see them often, so we stayed worried.

Well, today, the little baby was out of nest, and hardly responsive to us, even letting us pick up and hold them. We called a nearby rescue service, and were planning on taking them tomorrow, but, when we came back home, little bird had crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Naturally, I was, and still am immensely heartbroken, so I hopped on Pokemon to try and distract myself. Now, i dont believe in Signs, or miracles, or anything along that line, but first pokemon I get in Wondertrade is this little level 1 Rookidee. I know of course this is a super popular fodder pokemon, and while it made me cry all over again, it also made me happy because now ill have this little bird with me all the time. I might not have been able to save the real little bird, but I sure can with this little Rookidee.
