This is another recipe I love making! I use this dough recipe here
https://www.foodrepublic.com/recipe.....umpling-dough/
And it works great!
Ingredients:
Soy sauce
1 egg
Garlic (minced)
1/4 of a small onion
1/2 cup celery
Pepper
Chili powder to taste
1 pound Ground beef (you’ll likely have extra filling)
The first thing you want to do is get your dough ready, since it’ll have to rest for 20 minutes. During this time you’ll want to prepare the filling.
Finely mince your celery and onion, and add to your ground beef, followed by your egg. Once the mixture is incorporated, season and add your soy sauce. Begin rolling out your dough into thin rounds, following the instructions in the dough recipe, fill, and pinch shut. Steam for 10 minutes or until dough is firm but not fully hard
~ From Chris: I will add that to prevent the buns from sticking to the steamer basket (wooden, metal or otherwise) just put those dumplings on fresh lettuce leaves then steam.
You could also turn those into -soup- dumplings by adding in your favorite soup stock that has been gelled up with unflavored gelatin, and puree it in the meat mixture, and stuff.
And I will also add: you really need a dipping sauce so please go here - http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/1970.....ing-sauce.aspx
