I recommend reading the entire book that is is from called "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth" by Jeff Cooper. You don't have to be a "gun nut" to get something out of it, it is a very good read on what exactly a gun is and how it should be used. It is a real eye opener for those who's only experience with guns is through the media and if you are ever around a gun it could save your life. If you are a writer, this book is the bible you need to reference if your story involves guns so that you look like you know what you are talking about and not look like a total boob. Same for artists as well.
